What’s the optimal timing for comparing business gas tariffs?

Switching your business energy provider is more complicated than switching your household energy provider. If you have a fixed-term contract for business gas or electricity, you are committed to a specific supplier for a predetermined period. These fixed-term deals generally offer lower rates than variable deals, but you cannot compare quotes and sign up for a new contract until your current contract enters its “switching window.” This usually occurs between one and six months before the contract’s expiration date.
